Dude, this is cause you are playing the WAREZ version most likely.
The game looks to the cd for an error to make sure you are using a real copy of the game.
You need to buy the game or if you instist on not supporting the manufacturer, get the cracked EXE file and overwrite your exe with it.

This is because of the CD (safedisc v2?) protection. I had the same problem with the original CD (!), and it disappeared when I installed a cracked version.

Hopefully Ubisoft will understand it will do no good to sell CDs so well protected that even the legitimate buyers cannot use them !
