Regulations for the WAR’M Up Ubisoft – Conflict Zone Game

Article 1 :

The company UBISOFT ENTERTAINMENT S.A. - whose registered office is situated at 61, rue St Hélier in Rennes (35000), registered with the Rennes Trade and Company Register under the number 335 186 094 (business address: 28, rue Armand Carrel, 93100 Montreuil sous Bois) – is organising a free game, with no obligation to purchase or make any payment whatsoever, between 5 May and 21 May 2001 in the following countries or groups of countries: Great Britain-Ireland-Australia, France, Germany-Austria, Belgium-Switzerland-Luxembourg, Holland, Denmark-Sweden-Norway-Finland-Iceland, Italy and Spain.

Answer all the strategy-game questions and enter the prize draw by filling in the entry form on the site. Be very careful to provide all the information required in the obligatory fields (family name, first name, e-mail address, town, country) if you want to receive a prize.

Entry forms that include inaccurate or incomplete information in an obligatory field will not be taken into account and will automatically render the player’s participation in the game entirely null and void.

The competition is open to any person residing in France, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, Australia, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Luxembourg, Ireland or Austria, who has an e-mail address and has respected the method of entry set out in these regulations.

The only way to take part in the game is by using the electronic entry form on the site.

Article 2 :

Employees of the company organising the game, and of the company ‘Business Lab’, are excluded from taking part in the game, as are their families (direct or collateral relatives and relations by marriage, up to the third degree of kinship).

Only one entry - using the same family name, first name and address - is permitted per person.


Article 3 :

The prize draw will take place on the last day of the competition (22 May 2001) using an automated, random procedure to choose from the first 5 participants in each zone, ranked according to the number of points obtained for their answers to the game questions. The deadline for prize draw entries is 11.59 p.m. Prize winners alone will be informed of success by e-mail. There will be 5 winners per zone. The word ‘zone’ refers to a country or group of countries taking part in the competition.

The zones are as follows:

Zone 1 : Great Britain, Ireland and Australia

Zone 2 : France

Zone 3 : Germany and Austria

Zone 4 : Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg

Zone 5 : Holland

Zone 6 : Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland

Zone 7 : Italy

    Under no circumstances may prizes be exchanged for cash. The prize will be sent to the winner within one month, at the organiser’s expense, and may not be subject to any contention whatsoever. Each prize winner should fulfil the conditions set out in these rules and be able to provide proof of his or her identity.

    Article 5 :

    In accordance with the ‘Loi Informatique et Libertés’ of 6 January 1978 (the French freedom of information law), participants have the right to access, rectify and delete registered personal details.

    Article 6 :

    The organiser reserves the right, under given circumstances, to postpone, modify or cancel the present competition, alter the participation period, and, as a last resort, resolve any problems that may arise in the course of the present competition. The organiser’s responsibility can only be called into question if, because of a given event, the commitments resulting from the present regulations cannot be upheld, in part or in their entirety.

    Taking part in the competition implies an understanding and acceptance of the Internet’s features and limits, particularly with regard to the risks inherent in connecting to – and transmitting information via – the Internet and the fact that certain information is not protected against misappropriation and the risks of contamination by potential viruses circulating through the network.

    The organising company cannot be held liable for any harm, direct or indirect, caused by the interruption of the game, problems in the running of the game (of any kind), or by the suspension or end of the game, for any reason whatsoever. The same applies to any harm, direct or indirect, that may result, in any way whatsoever, from connecting to the site. It is the player’s responsibility to take all appropriate measures to protect his or her own information and/or software on computer equipment against attack. Any person connecting to the site, or player participating in the game, does so entirely at his or her own responsibility.


    Article 7 :

    These regulations apply to all players taking part in the game by completing and submitting an entry form. The organising company reserves the right to introduce changes to the regulations at any time, without previous notice, with no obligation to justify the decision and without assuming liability as a result.

    Any change introduced to the regulations will be registered with the SCP (‘Société Civile Professionnelle’) KRIEF BEDDOUK and will take effect from the moment it goes online. All players will be considered to have accepted the change simply by virtue of taking part in the game, from the date that the change takes effect. Any player who rejects the change or changes made must stop taking part in the game.


    Article 8 :

    In accordance with the ‘Loi Informatique et Libertés’ of 6 January 1978 (the French freedom of information law), participants have the right to access and rectify their personal information on the computer data file on demand, simply by sending a request to the following postal address: Ubisoft Entertainment, Concours WAR’M UP – Conflict Zone, 28 rue Armand Carrel – 93108 Montreuil sous bois Cedex – France.

    Article 9 :

    Connection charges will be refunded on request to any player (by cheque only) - as will postal charges entailed by this request - in accordance with the conditions laid out below. The request should be made on plain unheaded paper, providing (for purposes of verification) the player’s family name, first name and personal postal address. This request should be sent by ordinary mail to the following address, within 48 hours of the player’s participation in the game (the postmark acting as proof): Ubisoft Entertainment, Concours WAR’M UP – Conflict Zone, 28 rue Armand Carrel – 93108 Montreuil sous bois Cedex – France.

    The connection charges, and postal charges entailed by the request, will be refunded within 30 days of receiving the request in the following manner:

    Namely, the total sum (at the date of registering the regulations) of 2.70 FF.
